About us

We’re just two people who got caught up in the pace of everyday life. We started Loose Leaf Ritual because our mornings had stopped feeling like ours.

Like so many others, we would wake up already thinking about everything we had to do. Tea in one hand, phone in the other, half-awake and already behind. The first thing we touched every day was a screen, and the first thing we drank was something we barely tasted, usually a tea bag, the kind that's quietly sealed with plastic, steeped for thirty seconds while we answered emails.

One morning, we looked at each other across the kitchen table. We were sitting together, but neither of us was really there. We were both staring at our phones, answering messages, making plans, already somewhere else in our minds. We couldn’t remember the last time we’d actually shared a conversation before leaving the house. That was the moment something shifted. We realised we weren’t missing more time; what we were actually missing were the meaningful moments inside the time we already had.

We started talking, really talking, and we both realised the same thing at once: we couldn't keep racing through life like this.

So we decided to give ourselves one small part of the day back. A small morning ritual, just for us. Brew a loose-leaf tea, watch it slowly come to life, and enjoy the moment, each other's company, no phones, no email, just the cup in our hands. It was our little escape, and it recharged us for the day.

It changed the morning. Not our whole lives, just the morning. And it turned out the morning was enough.

The more we thought about it, the more we realised we couldn’t be the only people living like this. So we decided to try to bring that small ritual to more people who need it too. In our busy lives, chasing careers, juggling a thousand tasks and chores, everything feels like a constant race. We wanted to show that there's a slower way. So we started Loose Leaf Ritual. No plastic. No rushing. No screen. Just real tea, the way it was meant to be, before someone packaged it for speed.

We still brew a pot together every morning. It's become the quietest, best part of our day, and it's the whole reason Loose Leaf Ritual exists.
